These three panoramic photo collages — made between 1989 and 1990 — are part of Masumi Hayashi's EPA Superfund series, which documents contaminated industrial sites across Ohio. Each assembles dozens of individual photographs into a fractured panorama, creating images that are simultaneously documentary evidence and formal elegy. Their inclusion in Life on Earth, a landmark ecofeminist exhibition backed by Getty/PST ART, placed Hayashi's work in direct conversation with eighteen international artists linking environmental destruction and gender oppression.
