About Dr. Masumi Hayashi

Dr. Masumi Hayashi (1945-2006) was an acclaimed American fine art photographer known internationally for her pioneering panoramic photo collage technique.

  • Panoramic photo collage specialist combining around 100 individual photographs into unified, large-scale works
  • Cleveland State University photography professor for over 25 years
  • Fulbright Scholar who documented sacred sites in Asia
  • Cleveland Arts Prize winner (1994, first photographer to receive the award)
