Three works — Bodhi Tree, Dry Lake, and Thanjavur Palace — are held in the permanent collection. The works came to the Smithsonian through the Gloria Katz and Willard Huyck Collection, acquired by the Freer|Sackler as a partial gift of the collectors and through acquisitions funds in 2018. Katz and Huyck were Hollywood screenwriters (American Graffiti, Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom) who acquired the works through Los Angeles dealer Stephen White.
